E.A., Electronic Arts, the megalodon of Video Game Publishing has just released a semi-accurate list of what titles are going to be published in the next 2 fiscal years, 2010 and 2011.
* Q1 FY2011 - April 1 - June 30, 2010 o Skate 3 (Console) o Need for Speed World (PC)
* Q2 FY2011 - July 1 - September 30, 2010 o Medal of Honor Title TBA (Console, Handheld, PC)
* Q3 FY 2011- October 1 - December 31, 2010 o Crysis 2 (Console, PC) o Criterion's Need For Speed Title TBA (Console, Handheld, PC)
* Q4 FY 2011- January 1 - March 31, 2011 o Dead Space 2 (Console, Handheld) o Dragon Age Title TBA (Console, Handheld, PC) o Shooter from Epic TBA (Console, PC) o New Sims Title TBA (PC) o Spore Title TBA (Consoles, PC)
o "Something far-reaching from Mass Effect" - EA COO John Schappert
For more of the appove list, head over here, ShackNews Article.
As you can see, its a pretty extensive list. I ususally dont get caught up in pre-release excitement, well at least not this far out, but Campione 2000 is changing that feeling. So far it looks like Crysis 2 is going to be EA's largest market hit, seeing its going to be EA's Holiday flagship title AND it will probably have a special edition that has the original titles for the consoles. I'm surprised to see Epic making a title that isn't going to be a Holiday 2011 title, but I'm sure that will change. Other games that stick out are a new Spore and Mass Effect (assume) 3. The new Spore is intriguing, lets hope it fixes the "What the Hell!!!" confusing Universe part.
As always, head over to the crew at ShackNews for other great Gaming Articles.

Yes! Our 4th anniversary / birthday is coming this Feb. 14th. In this time, we have written over 530 articles on this main site while 527 creative members have written over 38,000 posts in our forums. Not to mention were running 8.2 active Game Servers that is mostly funded by your contributions.
Because of this, we want to do something special because its our birthday present to you! To celebrate 4 years of our web and game servers being alive, were going to hold a Balloon Birthday Bash in our Accelerated and Party Time TF2 servers. We have a custom SourceMod plugin that will randomly make a balloon animal pop out of your dying corpse. These balloon animals are destructable and whoever shoots the most of them will win cool prizes. Since we dont have stats (yet, working on it) to track the balloon popping event we'll get some perl or VB script to parse the logs daily and update a web-page with the results. *edit Thanks to URD, we got some scripted results (click here).
Prizes will include the following.
1. 40$ worth of any Steam Games you want + our new 3-PG Medal (right). tonybaloney187 2. Any item under 20$ from Justice Radio Store and a copy of BioShock 1. Leaf7 3. 100 Gamer Capital (3 months Reserved Slot to all our servers). badfishy
This contest will run for 1 week starting Saturday Night during Captains Night to midnight Feb. 14th. You must be a forum member to win a prize. Thanks for being a part of la casa de 3PG!

Have you ever wanted to feel small and insignificant? Not many of us have, but I have a feeling you may feel that way after watching National Geographic's Journey to the Edge of the Universe. This documentary delivers what it promises: A Journey. Alec Baldwin narrates this non-stop, single, unbroken shot that takes us billions of light years away from Earth using CGI technology.
I expected this made for TV documentary to be a star hopping lecture, but to my surprise it was an astonishing trek to places that cannot be described using words. It's almost as if the filmmakers treated this project like a Hollywood Blockbuster; diving through clouds onto the surface of planets, moons, comets, and even stars themselves.

If you have ever looked up and wondered what is out there, then this is an answer to your question. So take Alec Baldwin's hand, and don't let go, because he does get scared quite a few times. (Alec Baldwin can act? What? THIS IS NEWS! -ed.)
(Another Editor Note: Also the APOD is a great everyday reminder of what is out there, and Powers of 10 is always a treat, regardless.)

3 Point Games wouldn't be such a great place to play if we didn't have such awesome and diverse group of people who frequent our forums and Game Servers. We'd like to give a special thanks to all of you who have contributed in one way or another... and in order to get to know each other a little bit better, we are continuing our Community Spotlight articles on some members who have stood out for their interesting personality and community involvement.
Our next spotlight is focused on Ian, who uses the term (Not The Time) in his name. Asking him what all that was about on TeamSpeak, he revealed that the secondary term was derived from lyrics from the Green Day song 'Whatshername', "forgetting you but not the time". Well, it wont surprise you to know that Ian has been quite active in our TeamSpeak3 server and has gotten to know us quite well. Recently he has been very helpful in testing, debugging and informing us on what is in need of fixing, as well as being an all around cool level headed guy to hang out with. Ian has been promoted to our ranks as a Game Server Administrator after a grueling interview (and some light hazing) by the Root Admins.
To be honest, we mostly chose him because of his cool car and great haircut. Ha!
Give a big shout out to Ian for his involvement in the 3-PG community to help us grow and prosper!

Behold the Psychic Tumbler, Raz! Behold the madness! Behold... the Midweek sale on Steam.
Steam is offering Psychonauts for 2 bucks. TWO WHOLE DOLLARS. That is insane.
I loved Psychonauts. Correction: I still love it. I have played it through about a half dozen times now, and every time I enjoy it like a fine wine on a warm summer night. Drinking in the wry humor, kick ass gameplay mechanics, and overall zeal of running around in the many subconscious playgrounds. Each level is better than the previous. And Gogglor, with his mudfish smashing feet, will always have a special place in my heart.
Tim Schafer and Double Fine (also creators of Brutal Legend) debuted with this kick ass game, and it still is a blast to play.
SO GO BUY IT. (Did I mention it was 2 bucks?)
